FAQ about Acne Examination

More

1. Why are there so much acne on my face?
The formation of acne is related to many factors, such as unreasonable diet structure, mental tension, visceral dysfunction, poor living or working environment, the lack of some trace elements, genetic factors and constipation, etc. If small sebum at the hair follicle can't be discharged, then small white papules, namely white head acne, are formed. And if the acne outside of the hair follicle is exposed to the air and dust pollution, it turns black and becomes namely black head acne.

2. Shall I have to frequently clean my face since I have acne skin?
Many people suffering from acne are prone to oily facial skin which doesn’t necessarily mean they shall clean their faces frequently.
Actually they are supposed to clean the face with just warm water or relatively mild facial cleanser every morning and evening.

3. Do the people of acne skin not need moisturizing cream?
No, they should still use moisturizing cream. Such people usually have damaged skin barrier function, so it’s necessary for them to have moisturization especially in spring. It’s recommended that they use skincare products specific for acne.

4. Shall the people of acne skin often expose themselves to the sun?
Well, slight sun exposure is not a threat to the acne while excessive one can make the acne more severe. It’s recommended that they take necessary sun protection measure to avoid the UV rays’ impact on the acne.

5. Can I squeeze my acne?
No, you can’t. If you squeeze it by yourself, then secondary infection may easily happen and cane marks or scars can be caused. Instead, you should go to the Dermatology Department of a regular public hospital to receive the selective acne treatment.

6. Are there any food that I shall not eat since I’m of acne skin?
High sugar and high fat are the adverse factors for acne, and milk and dairy products may also affect acne. So people with acne should limit their consumption of foods high in sugar, fat and milk, and avoid excessive sun exposure, staying up late, constipation and other adverse factors.

7. What should I pay attention to in my daily skin care as a guy with acne skin?
People of acne prone skin can secrete exuberant grease and have more sensitive skin than normal, and their skin barrier function may have reduced by using some acne medication. So they should choose mild skincare products of good moisturizing effect to protect the skin, and have proper sunscreen to avoid aggravated acne by sun exposure.

8. Should acne skin be exfoliated regularly?
No, it shouldn’t. As part of our body, skin continuously metabolize as with other organs and structures. It takes about 28 days for a normal epidermis cell to evolve to a outermost horn cell from a original basal cell and finally fall off. The hyperkeratosis of acne skin is just the hyperkeratosis of the epithelial cells of the hair follicle sebaceous glands catheter with the metabolism of other skin horn cell remaining normal. So acne skin shall not be exfoliated regularly, but exfoliated regularly when necessary!

9. Should I take the facial cleanser with stronger cleanness power since there is often acne on my face?
No, you shouldn’t. Patients with acne tend to have powerful sebaceous glands secretion function. But if the sebum on the skin surface is cleaned too much, sebaceous glands will be stimulated to produce more sebum, making the skin more oily. So mild facial cleanser is enough for acne skin.

10. How many times of laser treatment are required to completely remove the acne on my face?
Once or twice of laser treatment can thoroughly remove the acne with light color while it takes 3 to 5 times for the one with deep color.

11. Why is my skin usually oily?
It is caused by exuberant grease which is relevant to inadequate skin cleaning and moisturizing as well as the hormone in the body. You can take some beauty items to improve it.

12. Are there any considerations after the acne treatment by laser?
a. Eat less stimulating food but more light diet such as fruits and vegetables.
b. Ensure balanced work and life. Avoid endocrine disorder by hypertension or fatigue.
c. Have enough sun protection before going out to avoid pigmentation.
d. Remember to moisturize your skin every day as it gets drier after the treatment.
