Postoperative care

0-3 days of severe swelling

Recovery hints: swelling is relatively obvious, but because the canthus tissue is thinner, so the situation is generally better. There will be a little bleeding on the day after the operation.

Nursing methods:

1. Ensure that the surgical site is clean and prevent infection.

2. After operation, local wounds can be compressed and dressed or cold compressed with ice bags.

3. Avoid eating irritating foods such as chili peppers.

4. Take oral anti-inflammatory drugs and apply anti-scar drugs.

4-6 days rapid detumescence period
 

Recovery Tips: The swelling is obviously improved. There may be mild bruising symptoms,which is normal. Slight itching at the wound is a sign of skin healing.

Nursing methods: 1. Keep the wounds clean and dry at the operation site, and do not get wet before stitches removal; 

2. Take appropriate rest, do more blinking exercises, promoting the early absorption of surgical congestion; 

3. No smoking, alcohol and spicy stimulating food.

Stitches Removal after 7 Days 
 

Recovery Tips: After 7 days,remove stitches in the hospital  (because of different surgical methods, remove the stitches  according to the doctor's advice time, ).

Nursing methods: 

1. Keep the wound clean and prevent infection;

2. Within 24 hours after thread removal, the wound should not be wet; 

3. Do not rub the wound vigorously, apply scar removing ointment to dilute the scar; 

4. Pay attention to light diet and fast spicy stimulating food.

8-15 days continuous detumescence period
 

Recovery Tips: swelling disappeared basically without obvious discomfort symptoms.

Nursing methods: 

1. After thread removal, rinse and soak normally, and use softening scar medicines at the incision. 

2、Do not watch TV or newspapers within 2 weeks. It is best to stay in a semi-recumbent position during bed rest to avoid increasing the swelling of the wound due to excessive eye fatigue or low head position. 

16 to 30 days Tissue recovery period 
 

Recovery Tips: : the effect of the operation gradually appears, the shape of the corners of the eyes, the degree of opening, and the symmetry are gradually determined. Postoperative effects can be assessed basically.

Nursing method: One month is the stage of scar proliferation, we should wait patiently for scar elimination.

31-180 Days Stable effect Period

Recovery Tips: symptoms basically disappears. But because the skin at the corners of the eyes is thinner, there may be a small red spot at the corners of the eyes for a long time. It may take more than half a year to disappear for the red spot, during which it can be covered with makeup.

Nursing methods: adhere to apply scar medicine, patiently waiting for scar elimination.
