Postoperative Nursing Care of Opening Inner canthus

0-3 days of severe swelling

Recovery Tips: swelling is relatively obvious, but because the canthus tissue is thinner, so the situation is generally better. There will be a little bleeding on the day after the operation.

Nursing methods:

1. Ensure that the surgical area is clean, preventing infection.

2. After operation, local wounds can be compressed and dressed or cold compressed with ice bags.

3. Avoid eating irritating foods such as chili peppers.

4. Oral anti-inflammatory drugs, apply scar drugs, strictly abide by the doctor's instructions to take medicine and re-visit.

4-6 days rapid detumescence period

Recovery Tip: A slight itch at the wound is a sign of skin healing.

Nursing methods:

1. Keep the wound clean and dry and the wound can not get wet before thread removal.

2. Rest properly and do more blinking exercises, promoting the early absorption of surgical congestion;

3. No smoking, alcohol and spicy food.

Recovery Tip: On the 7th day, remove the suture in the hospital (because of different surgical methods,remove the suture in the hospital  according to the doctor's advice time).

Nursing methods:

1. Keep the wound clean and prevent infection.

2. after thread removal, the wound can not touch water within 24 hours .

3. Do not rub the wound vigorously. Apply scar removing ointment to dilute the scar.

4. Pay attention to light diet ,no spicy food and irritating food.

8 days to 15 days of continuous swelling period

Recovery Tip: The swelling has basically disappeared and there is no obvious uncomfortable symptom.

Nursing methods:

1. After removing the thread, the wound can touch water normally, and the scar can be applied to the incision;

16 days to 30 days tissue recovery period

Recovery Tip: The postoperative effect is slowly formed, the shape of the canthus, the degree of opening and the symmetry is gradually confirmed. Basically, the postoperative effect can be evaluated.

Nursing method: one month is the stage of scar hyperplasia period, be patient and wait for the scar to be eliminated.

31-180 Days  Stable Effect Period

Recovery Tip: symptoms basically disappear. But because the skin at the canthus is thinner, there may be a small red spot at the canthus for a long time. It may take more than half a year for the red spot to disappear, it can be covered with makeup during that time.

Nursing methods: adhere to apply scar removing medicine, patiently waiting for scar elimination.
